I used a similar process to that of Idris Khan to make this series. I was the event photographer at a PV by the graphic artist Brian Grimwood. I noticed that visitors were scanning the pictureless catalogue, identifying the number they were interested in and walking directly to it having worked out the hanging sequence. The B & W images are of the vinyl numbers under each piece in the show and represent a perceived view of art on the wall by using mathematics to calculate theoretical visits to the gallery and also to calculate which images to look at. All 66 images are stacked in one image with the degree of opacity related to the percentage viewing rate. The other B&W image is based on the artist's own preferred viewing order of works in his exhibition.
