The weather this morning was ideal for large format work but other issues prevented me from taking advantage of the light almost non-existent wind. I tried just before sunset but one of the new locations was due East of the setting sun so not really an option. At a loss as to what to do I rummaged through my archive on account of a runner-up image at the RPS. It was of the abstract painted staircase in Tate Britain. This image was made on a self-study day to the Tate in August 2012. Cracking skyline, clouds and of course the big wheel.
I got to see a Gursky and some Becher’s work that day. Very much a fortunate trip. I’ve still not been on the wheel.
