In my quest to identify new locations and vantage points for Edgelands imagery, I am becoming numb as to what people through over hedges or dump in ditches.
I doubt this bracken patch was good for a picnic.
That said, I can recall days under canvas back in the early 60’s when we stuffed bracken under the groundsheet of our tent to make a makeshift mattress. None of that huffing and puffing associated with inflating a Li-Lo, just altitude sickness from climbing the mountain and arm ache from carrying the stuff down! Oh, and no cool boxes either in those days – a canvas bag kept wet so that the evaporation created the cooling effect was all we had. Quite eco actually. Well ahead of time.
