Busy start to December

What a hectic start to the month!

Bettina von Zwehl attended UCS and presented a guest lecture and I was asked to photograph her. Then we had a Lee Miller lecture provided by her son and granddaughter that was extremely good and I got to take their pictures too. Add to that photographing the launch of UCS and Arts with the establishment of an art collection for East Anglia it has left precious little time for anything else.

That little else is a new body of work based on the feeling I have when I exit an exhibition. I took an ongoing exhibition at UCS by Brian Grimwood and used a computer program to calculate a theoretical visitor rate and viewing rate of the 67 exhibits. These figures were randomly generated so that I would have no influence upon the outcome. Following a tutorial, I contacted the artist Brian Grimwood and asked if we could collaborate. He graciously agreed so I am now working up a representation based on a perspective he gave me. I’ll be printing these off tomorrow at 112cm square. A random view and an artist’s view.

The outcome will be interesting. Watch this space for pictures of the works.
