Individual Practice

The latest assignment at UCS is Individual Practice. This is based upon reflecting upon one’s previous work and developing it further. I analysed my previous assignments and the result is that most of my work has been presented as an abstraction of some sort. My previous assignment focussed (sic) on the colour ‘Yellow’ and the use of it as a control colour on the street for the FujifilmĀ  Student Awards. During that assignment I became aware of other threads of information held in the gutters of the streets of Ipswich and I followed this up by photographing grids and litter.

This is an example of 8 layered litter photographs all taken on Fuji 400H using a Fuji GW670III and all shot from 1.5 metres from the gutter bottom.

I don’t want to seem to be a one trick pony in this regard so the final body may well be in the manner of Ed Ruscha’s 26 Gasolene Stations and may well be a book rather than a wall hanging exhibition of 41 images (at present)
