As a part of my recent exercise into photographing yellow on the street for the Fujifilm Student Awards ‘the colour of…’ competition, I have been drawn to litter and wondering why and who discards is. For some time now on my walk into UCS, I have noticed discarded used condoms near St Edmund’s House where either someone has plied a trade or some people just could not wait to get home but then discarded the spent prophylactic on the paviours. It was the snow , leaves and litter that caught my attention in biting Arctic conditions this week . I hardly noticed that it was a spent red condom in the foreground until I zoomed into the image.

In some respects the litter here says it all, McDonalds litter, Cadbury’s litter and a red letter and a bed of leaf litter.
