Medium format Bronica SQAi

I do not use this camera as often as I should. The results in this post speak volumes for both Kodak Portra 400 and the stunningly sharp lenses. The 50mm wide angle is about as sharp as it gets.

These two images shot on Portra 400 look so different to the large format images shot during the same session on Ektar 100.

Brantham13_P400I am fascinated at the way in which plants colonise the ground, some accidental, others as a result of some human intervention. Plus the inevitable litter. At least this time no McDonalds within striking distance.

Compare this shot to the Ektar shot in the Large format post. Less wind but it was on the rise as the tide came up with the sun.

I first saw this apparition on a very wet drive back in the winter of 2012/13. For the life of me I could not recollect where I saw it but by criss-crossing the lanes around Waldringfield and Newbourne I eventually found it. Again I shot this at the same time as large format but B&W this time. I posted that picture a while back. It almost looks like a spacecraft it is so incongruous in the surroundings.

The field above was full of rape and poppies when I shot from the same position during the summer.

These two shots are from the shoot I did for Adrian Duffy & The Mayo Brothers whilst they had their video recorded for their latest release Someone Like You www.youtube.com/adrianduffyvideo . The FairLane was the star attraction of the day and this was just as it rolled up outside the station. Tank engines shunted up and down the line all day as part of a ‘Thomas the Tank Engine’ event. Downtime between shoots meant quite a few shots of passing or indeed waiting trains. Such intense colours though. Impossibly bright light on the day.
