Last Friday was the longest day ever as I waited at home for my very large C-Type prints to arrive from Metro following an exacerbating group meeting about our degree shows. I just had to get out of UCS as fast as possible that day which made the rest of the day arduous to say the least. Just 3 late payers and progress was scuppered. What is it with some people?
Anyway, yesterday was much better. The prints were dropped off at the framers, Lamden, in Ipswich so all I have to worry about is making transit cases, and organising my own transport to get these back to UCS even though I am not hanging these for my degree assessment. I need them ready for transit to London in a safe way and I’m not leaving that to chance. The only other things to worry about now are the topping and tailing of my research workbook and the degree show build.
Then, it will be like paying off a ship after a patrol. I used to work 3 months on board a patrol vessel then pay off and go back to a land based job before re-joining another vessel. Three years at UCS has been a bit like that. There have been rough times and smooth times. I’m looking forward to paying off and there again I’m not.
The other 4 images made by Metro are below.

All of these images were shot on Kodak Portra 400 using a Toyo 45A field camera with a Schneider 135mm lens bar one taken on the 45C with a 210mm lens – easy to spot that one. They have been C41 processed by UCS, drum scanned by Metro and Durst Lambda printed by Metro to an image size of 100×125 cm on a 110x135cm page on Fuji Crystal Archive matt (which actually has a nice sheen to it).
