ARPS

RPS

This arrived in the post(email) today. In 1971 I used to write out to ARPS and FRPS judges arranging competitions for the Crosby Camera Club. In those days I was (obviously) a callow youth and I set myself a goal of getting at least an ARPS when I was grown up. Well, I have aged and much water has flowed under the bridge since I first aspired to this and even now as I look up to my top bookshelf there is a book – The Complete Photographer by Andreas Feninger that the other members gave me to help set my pathto my degree and RPS distinction. Little did I know then that some 43 years later I would have still had recourse to open it as part of my recent studies to gain the BA(Hons). So in the the last month I have ticked off two of the bucket list. Both very much later than I had planned but I got there in the end. FRPS is the next goal.

I’m busy re-planning and re-writing my ACE funding request and I have had a very good discussion with a local museum who are keen to work with me and my Edglelands project. Having people like them and Kodak expressing support is driving me on to get this project funded and moving. The museum have posited the idea of displaying my work in the landscape so I’ve a challenge to see what Metro can do for me. The reference shots today were to help me plan the end game and help consider how I might group certain subject  matter at various parts of the 80 or so acres of land they have.

The reference shots today were made with the D3S – my that sensor needs cleaning. Clear skies and F12 downwards usually plots the dust very well. Looks like some servicing time due for all the kit as summer is my downtime for the most part. That will keep me busy for a few days.
