Edgelands – transitioning

I made a recce to Cattawade in the middle of the day today. It was raining cats and dogs and I ‘d prudently packed the D3S as I don’t much like the Bronica or the Toyos getting drenched.

I was curious to see the lay of the land as this season draws to a close and some of these pictures are taken from more or less the same vantage points as those made on Kodak Portra 400  in both large and medium format. I shot full frame and cropped to give the effect of 1:1 or 5×4 in post processing. I’m pretty sure that if I re-shoot at this location from September onwards I will get a totally different look and feel. I’m sure there is much more undergrowth on display. I’m prepared for frost to have the requisite effect and also the natural die back. The Flymo discarded on open space with an electrical supply cable effectively neutered seemed to sum up the decline of the area.
