I was out before dawn today. No bicycle. A bit too windy for me so shank’s pony was in order and yet more testing as I get to grips with the metering and handling of this camera. It is so different to the D3S.
Being out before dawn is not too onerous a task at this time of year and most of the images I make are at either ends of the day so short days have less down time between shoots.
When I first came to Ipswich, the Willis building was feted and still is. The other side of the road however was a tad grungy and in the mid 80s Willis bought and tarted up the car park at Greyfriars and made it into combined office and parking. Whilst nothing like the black kidney shaped Foster building, it literally transformed a bleak corner of the town into something quite vibrant. The best aspects of these winter months for me is seeing these buildings glow. Somehow I think they are meant for Northern climes.
