I had a request for a close up of one of the Mimosa flowers so after the winds of the last few days, the forecast was set right for dawn today with sub 3mph winds and what a dawn it was too. I felt that tremble as blood and emotions coursed through my veins at the sight of the penumbra of pre-dawn. I very nearly never made it to the location. I could have easily been led astray just at The Strand alone let alone any of the other distractions such as the Honey Buzzard and Hares and masses of fairy mist bending through the trees and over the fields of freshly harvested wheat. But press on I did.

Job done, I was back home by 06:30 for sourdough toast and 6 espressos. Best of the day already spent.
I must order my autumn supply of 5×4 Portra. The season is upon us.
That is definately the SHOT i was after. Will it keep its clarity if we go larger? I need to catch up with you to settle up. I will get my tape measure out and get some idea how large i’d like the picture. . Lovely dawns along the strand usually egrets there which are stunning . Catch up soon Ali
Hi Ali,
I can print this at 14 inches square. It will print larger than this but I would have to send it to a lab to be printed. Egrets are as common as seagulls on the Gipping and Orwell these days.
Please let me know what size you are thinking of and I’ll quote you. Let me know if you want a proper photograph or whether an inkjet print will do. I have a 14 inch square inkjet sitting here already.
