This week has been full on already. Monday was a plumbing day. I have learned over the years not to start such jobs on a Sunday as there is always some gizmo or part that requires a trip to a proper plumbers merchant. We lasted all of last winter with a dodgy radiator valve in the parlour and it was one of those jobs that I just had to put off until the ‘summer’. Well the summer came and went – I know not where or whence but it has gone and there’s an end to it so I had to get my finger out. The en-suite radiator had gone South also so at least it was worth my while draining down the whole system.
All in all it went swimmingly so there is just the flush to sort out on the en-suite dunny now. How I hate having to take that contraption apart. It has gone through a few syphons since 1996. At least we are ready for the forecast replica winter of 1962-3. How I remember that winter of snow drifts a good eight feet high, failed potato clamps, permafrost in our bedroom. Snow might curtail my extended shooting of Edgelands but we will see what happens.
I took myself off to Levington this afternoon to try out a new viewpoint of Felixstowe docks. I could hardly stand up with the wind and my stiff limbs from my almost constant trek up and down stairs yesterday bleeding radiators etc. I’m sure some of my 15 second exposures suffered on the tripod from the wind so here are a few hand held efforts.
