Whenever I photograph subjects there is always a reason why. The initial draw is one thing but as I look more at what drew me into the picture I begin to see differently and more often than not I see connections no matter how tenuous they may seem.
With this image, it was the red of the Vespa agaainst the weathered grey corrugated shed doors. It was the contrast in colour and also the contrast in shapes, the voluptous roundness of the scooter panels versus the sharpness of the corrugated doors.
Then I saw the connection, almost as if the scooter rider had deliberately parked his/her machine alongside the drum with an apparent roundel on it. A Mod Con(nection) if you like.
