Old dogs and new tricks

A fellow nomadic photographer chum remarked on Monday that he wanted trade in his RB for a Fuji GW670, also known as the Texas Leica.

Well, yesterday I spent a hectic 8 hours scanning negatives for Year 3 students at UCS. I’m very impressed with the work submitted for scanning  and I’m looking forward to seeing the finished work in their degree show.

I needed to undertake some tests today so I dug out some Edgelands images that were made using my Fuji GW670III but on Fuji 400H. I never used these in my series as that was shot on Portra and I’m keeping that parameter for the ongoing work.

I knew that the Fuji was a sharp camera but this image blew me away when I got it on screen. The day before this image was made we had hurricane force winds across the region and it was in the very late afternoon that I ventured out to take this in still blustery conditions.

Regular readers of my Edgelands work will note the foliage not usually present in that body of work.
