East London Photomonth

It is all kicking off over here in London. The annual Autumn photofest has started in East London. A lecturer from University of Suffolk – Paola Leonardi – has opened her show at Leytonstone. By chance I bumped into her last week as I was heading into London for the Agile Business Conference.
I’m back in the East End teaching this week and tomorrow night is our final meeting of the Rooftop Collective before we show in the Clerkenwell Gallery on 25th October. I’m sweating on Metro producing my prints and another firm producing frames for my smaller work.
The work I’m showing in the Clerkenwell is from my Pictures at an Exhibition series
Random Enigma
The Artist's Enigma
These two are being produced by Metro on resin paper as pure B&W prints with a matt seal on dibond with aluminium sub-frames. The finished size is 90cm square. I’m really looking forward to seeing them in the space.
I’ve shown these images before during a 3 month show at the famous Ipswich Art School Gallery – a hotbed for artistic talent many years ago – during the Historic and Contemporary Photography exhibition hosted by Ipswich & Colchester Museum service. I showed then as part of a collective ‘equals’. This time I am also showing the 8 colour images in the series. These 8 have a direct relationship to the 2 B&W prints but these are being printed on Canson Infinity paper – a paper that I consider the very best for inket printing.
Before all that though I am curating and showing in the Espacio Gallery as part of the RPS International Photobook Exhibition. We hang the work next Monday for a week. Crazy times!
