Steamed up and creative

I had to go up to town yesterday for a meeting with the Rooftop Collective. We meet once per month to discuss our artistic progression and business management. Yesterday’s topic was about email lists and marketing ourselves.

I had bounced down to the station in high spirits having had a very productive session with another business I am involved in during the day. Even my railway buffers were bright and cheerful in the late afternoon sunshine and then, as is the way with smart phones I got involved in a long debate about someone getting an email they did not expect (not from me). I suppose that was an omen for the topic of the evening and none of us were really positive about it to be honest but sometime in the future I may let people know what I have done since the Edgelands exhibition by way of an email.

It is fair to say I was a bit steamed up by the time I got to the Strand and entered Cafe Nero and then everything changed. I marvelled at the condensation running down the fogged up single glazed windows and thought ‘Saul Leiter’ but all the window bar stools were taken and then as is the way with London, the window bar seats emptied and I leapt across the cafe to occupy one of the seats.

I might have been steamed up getting in there but I could have spent the rest of the evening in there making images like these. I was very much less steamed up on leaving having created something marvellously colourful and satisfying.
